Paul West

A qualified Radio Presenter based in the South East of England.
After a stint of hospital radio, the 'bug' really bit.
I gained even more enthusiasm for the broadcasting Industry.
The Former Radio Training Unit;
Once based at:
Leicester Sound FM: Professionally trained here in various Radio Broadcasting Skills by a former BBC Radio 1 and Radio Caroline DJ Steve Merike, and I gained a Certificate in Radio Skills there.

Presenter Promotions:

More recent professional training in radio broadcasting skills, after attending an excellent radio skills course here, and recorded a new radio demo-tape.

Radio Caroline:

A chance of voluntary radio presenter work beckoned a relocation near to their studios in Maidstone in Kent.
But because of a misunderstanding (on their part), they had simply forgot the studio was already "booked" for when I was meant to start broadcasting there, things very sadly didn't work out there.

BBC Radio 2:

Top Job Interview; I was short-listed in November year 2000 for the position of a Music Administrator there.
But I required more experience with a type of software system they no longer use, so I didn't get the position - well "gutted!"

Powergold:

I'm currently self-training with a tutorial CD-ROM of the software system that BBC Radio 2 uses to make their radio Programmes with.
Sent to me by the UK Representative of Powergold.

BECTU:

A former member of Broadcasting, Entertainment, Cinematographic and Theatre Union.

The Radio Academy:

A former full member of the Radio Academy.

The real reason why I want to "break" into the radio broadcasting Industry is because, I was not "allowed" a Drum Kit I had always "craved" as a boy, and I want to help other Musicians' get the "chance" in life I never got.
